LZ5 was formed by ToeTag, Rock, XIO and TiaraTz about 1997 while playing Rainbow Six, Eagle Watch, and Rogue Spear. The four were friends living in the Dallas, Texas, area. Primus was one of the new hires way back when. At its height the team had some 16 members and generally kicked ass! At one point LZ5 was #1 on the most popular R6 ladder and #2 on the second most popular R6 ladder. After many hundreds of hours of playing and matches, people got busy and the team drifted apart.

Not until Raven Shield did the clan reform and begin an aggressive recruiting campaign to restock the ranks with top-caliber players with the LZ5 attitude. Since late December 2002, the team has added more than a dozen members, who all were subjected to thorough scrutiny of not just their playing skills, but their team attitude, maturity, and personality.
